The privileged bank of Epirothessaly was founded in 1882 by Andreas Syngros in order to help the economy of the new Greek territories of Epiros and Thessaly. So the Greek state gave to the bank the privilege of issuing banknotes to these territories. After the death of its founder, the bank merged with National bank of Greece in 1899. |
